THE LONGING: A Cavernous Idle Adventure Game
THE LONGING is a unique game developed by Studio Seufz for Nintendo Switch platform. The game is a combination of idle and adventure genres, where you play as the last servant of a king who once ruled an underground kingdom. The king has lost his powers and falls asleep for 400 days to regain his might, and it is your duty to stay in the cave alongside him until he awakens. The game is set in real-time, and the countdown to the 400 days starts as soon as you begin playing.
In the game, you can build your own little home next to the king and furnish it with items you find in the cave. You can also draw little pictures with various gemstones, read books, and play an instrument. Each upgrade of your home will cause time to progress faster, as long as you stay inside. However, you can also explore the dangerous parts of the cave that the king warned you of. The game offers various endings, and it is up to you to decide what to make of your solitary existence, miles below the ground.
